Card Sync Support
Getting started
- Plug your SD card, microSD card or USB drive into your iPhone or iPad with a USB-C or Lightning card reader.
- Open Card Sync and tap New Preset. Choose what you’re copying, then pick the card in the Files picker and choose where the copies go.
- Tap Sync. Each copy to a folder is checked byte for byte before it’s kept.
Next time, plug the card in and tap the preset. Only new files are copied.
My card doesn’t show up
iPhone and iPad only let an app open folders you’ve picked yourself, so Card Sync only recognizes cards you’ve added to a preset. A preset says Card not connected when none of its cards is plugged in.
- Using a different card? Tap Add Card on the preset and pick it. A preset can hold several cards and uses whichever one is plugged in.
- To copy a card once without saving a preset, use Copy Once Without a Preset.
- If the card doesn’t appear in the Files app either, unplug the reader and plug it back in. Some readers need a powered adapter for larger drives.
Sync is greyed out
The preset is up to date: everything on the card has already been copied. Add new files to the card and it lights up again.
Two files with the same name
Cameras restart their numbering, so a new IMG_0001 isn’t the old one. In Keep Both mode Card Sync keeps both and never replaces a different file.
Deleting from the card
“Delete from card after copying” is off unless you turn it on for a preset. When it’s on, a file is deleted from the card only after its copy has been verified to match.
Card Sync Pro
Copy Once is always free, and you can try 5 preset syncs free. A one-time Card Sync Pro purchase adds unlimited preset syncs and presets, Siri and Shortcuts, and sync history. No subscription. If you reinstall or get a new device, tap Restore Purchases in Settings.
Privacy
